Surat
People of Surat fight major natural disasters with ease, but are not of fighting nature, generally. They are peace loving people. Surat itself is called the India’s western gateway. The Surti literature is old and rich in itself. People here have huge interest in music and dance; that’s probably one of the reasons why the festivals too are filled with dance and music. The famous festivals of Surat are- Ras, Garba, Dangi Nritya, to name a few. Some of the famous dishes of Surat include Surti Ghari, Cold Coco, Surti Chinese (a blend of Chinese and Surat), Locho, Rasawala Khaman and many more. Though one may find Gujarat’s cuisine a little sweet, it is not the case with Surat.
